What are the symptoms of RI?
My bp has been doing amazing since I've got him but being a noob definitely doesn't help with the mistakes department. I used to use coconut husks but recently switched to paper towel but I'm afraid it's too late. My baby ate 2 days ago and shed yesterday but he's breathing a bit weird, like a strong exhale and somewhat fast, he also "yawned" just now...does he have early signs of RI? What are some symptoms?
Re: What are the symptoms of RI?
Yawning is not a sure sign of a respiratory infection, as well, breathing quickly usually means they are scared or stressed. The typical signs of a respiratory infection are clicking sounds, bubbling from the nose or mouth, and keeping their had tilted back.

Oh no! He just yawned again!
Re: What are the symptoms of RI?
Oh ok thank you! What about the weird breathing?

Sorry, I edited my post, it usually means they are scared or stressed.
Re: What are the symptoms of RI?
RI symptoms:
Rattling in lungs--you can feel the vibration when you hold them.
Drooling, bubbles around mouth. If you push gently on the lower jaw, you'll see saliva. You can also gently open the mouth with a speculum or cake spatula. If you see bubbly spit inside, that's a sign of an RI. The inside of the mouth should be wet, but not have saliva or mucous pooling or bubbling.
Off feed.
Sitting with head elevated.
