    Hatcling not eating.
Hi all. So i was at repticon this weekend and i wasn't planning on getting anything but i saw this little 10 day old albino prairie kingsnake for a steal and had to get him. well he was a steal because he hasn't feed yet. I am keeping him in a 5 gallon aquarium. I have an over sized water dish to take up some space and he has two small hides and plenty of aspen bedding to dig around in. His temps are at 89 degrees humidity about 60%. I offered a live pinkie the first night i had him, i left the pinkie in the cage over night and he did not take it. I tried the same with a f/t pinkie last night and got nothing. Am i offering to soon? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys.

He could just need some time to get acclimated. I'd give him a week and then try again.

Update: I moved the snake into a small tupperwear with a small hide and a small water disha couple days ago. Last night I put a f/t pinkie right in front of his hide and left him alone all night. I woke up and the pinkie is still there untouched. He moves around a lot and is always flipping his hide and water dish over like he is always trying to escape. is this normal? This is the first kingsnake i have owned. He is now 16 days old and hasn't eaten. HELP!!!

16 days is nothing for a snake, even a baby. Try doing the same thing with a live one next time, and don't try to feed too often. They'll get hungry enough eventually.

Thanks bro. Ive never worked with a snake this young so i wasnt sure if they could go as long without eating.

    Lower your temps to 75-84.
