My question: Why would anyone turn a whiny 17 year old emo kid into an immortal vampire?

So the abusively manipulative, whiny emo vampire has someone to be with. ;)

:| I can't see how anyone can like those books. They're basically the equivilant of poorly written fanfiction.

Agree 100%. The writing style, the reading difficulty (it's low), and the story, they all were on the low end of things. Its like someone wanted to take vampires and Harry Potter-ize them... with a 4th grade writing level...

People should do themselves a favor and pick up Anne Rice... God I cant believe something has made me stoop so low as to suggest people read about vampires with homoerotic overtones...

BTW, that was about the books, not the movies... I just never saw a reason to watch any of them after I accidentally went to the first (I'm fairly certain it was a Thanksgiving day movie outing and it was my third or fourth movie I went to)

Eh. Anne Rice is good. I prefer good ole dracula though.

Dracula was good. Actually I have to say the single greatest vampire book I have ever read was The Vampire Slayer's Field Guide to the Undead, which is a collection of information on all the different mythological vampires. And, personally, I never thought anything would drive me to suggesting Anne Rice to people. I hated reading her novels, although I loved the movies... I used to trash her but now... now I have to praise her in comparison to the competition.
