    terrified of tub?
My guy's skittish, but does well when I have him out and around my neck. When I put him back, however, her rushes for cover as fast as he can. It's almost like he's terrified of being in his tub, which I find odd because he seems fine when he's out and being handled. He's definitely more skittish in the tub. Is this normal? Will it go away? I feel like the tub is stressing him out more than the handling.

If he's running into his hide that's pretty normal...

Mine kind of did the same thing but I have him in a 10 gal aquarium. Anyway, I put my arm in the tank cause he was latched on and he would not let go he grabbed me harder and harder I had to pull him off of my arm then I felt bad so I picked him back up again and held him for another minute or so and put him back in and then he seemed fine. Mine also is a bit skittish in his tank, but only when I pick up his hide or get close to his head. He is starting to get use to me and feel more comfortable around me.

Also what are your temps and how many hides do you have?

My Hot Spot is 90-93 my Ambient is 87-90 and then my Humidity is 50-65 and the UTH is 90-93. These are the temps the majority of the time some times they are cooler. I only have 1 hide cause its only a 10 gallon but I will get more eventually.

You could easily knock almost 10 degrees off your ambient air temp to make it more bearable for your little guy. I'm thinking it might be too warm in there for him. What is the temp on the cool side?

Well, it's not like he's just going into his hide. It's like full blown panic mode. He moves like a person running out of a burning building. Like now that he's in the tub, I'm going to chomp down on him.

I have two hides and a big dog bowl he can even hide in. Very little extra room in the 41qt tub. Hot: 93, cool: 76, humidity: 89%.

Its normal. Many snakes are reluctant to go back into their enclosures. I usually have to cram my snakes back in their tubs if they have been out of the enclosure for a while.

Boas in particular are known for being very reluctant about going back into their enclosure.
