Why is she so shiny?

(Wasn't sure where to put this... please move it if it's in the wrong place)
I have a female ball python... was always a bit iridescent ever since her first shed(went from usual like my male has to like staring at a raven's feathers). She's supposed to only be het for hypo... but the older she gets the... erm.. shinier?

She sheds normally and always in one piece and actually seems to gain more luster after each shed.

And just so you know that blue isn't just because of the glove...

It shows even when she's laying in a white pillow sack...

Any clue what's causing this? My normal male certainly doesn't do that. Is it some sort of deficiency or what?

Lol. She's just healthy :) They come in all different colors. It's like snowflakes, you won't find two alike. :)

My normal ball has a similar coloring on his head. I've only had him about a month and I thought maybe it was some unshed skin that would come off with his (first time with me) shed. He just finished shedding and it actually looks even more noticeable. Guess thats just the way some look!:snake:

Thank you! I was getting rather worried because I noticed it and it just seemed to get worse and worse... so I tried googling it and didn't find anything or any pictures of it. Thought maybe her scales were comming in to thin or something weird like that. :D Feel better now! Thank you.

Mine looks like that after every shed as well, those are just the fresh healthy scales that are exposed after a shed, you will notice that the color seems to fade as time goes on until the next shed anyway...

I think it is because the scales are brand spankin new and so are flawless on the surface, after abrasion on their substrate the luster fades...

Definitely nothing to worry about, it is definitely a sign of health, its like having a luscious full head of hair, except its scales...

Nah, they definitely don't dull off. I've been watching it closely for over a year now and it just looks like that all the time and just becomes more so with each new shed. Thank you though, very good knowing shes not sick or anything. Especially after having to deal with my males Upper respiratory thing.

If that color does not fade at all on your snake, than you have a snake with very healthy skin and scales, not to mention good genetics!
