Maximum incubation temps??

For those of you living in hot places on this wonderful rock we call Earth and suffering through this heat wave I have a question.
I'm unfortunate and do not have a/c in my home and my question is this.
My house has an average temp of 91 degrees today and my incubator alarm is going nuts. How do you keep the temps low when your house temp is higher than your incubator temp?
I mean when should I worry? Right now my incubator is open and I have fans blowing all over the place and I can't get the temp below 90.5

Does anyone know the maximum safe temps eggs will incubate at and go full term with no ill effects?

90 is about as high as I have seen

People do get temp spikes here and there though with no ill effects. Though sometimes it can cause problems

Do you not have AC?

Can you not go get a window unit?

I think your situation is probably pretty unique. I doubt there are many people out there that have their house warmer than the ideal incubating temps. I think you are fine though. I would start to worry if you got over 92 or so, but I think 90-91 will be fine until the heat wave passes. I lost power down here in FL for a week during hurricanes a few years back but I was lucky to not have any eggs incubating at the time. That was a miserable week though. Trying to sleep was the worst. Good luck. I hope things get back to normal for you soon.

I also would recommend a widow unit A/C. Small ones are really cheap (at least in the states). It would keep your eggs a bit cooler and may keep you from going insane from the heat. :)

I do not have a/c. I guess other than a window unit not much I can do.

With the fans blowing the temps are hanging around 89.5 right now.
There is only one clutch left to hatch and it's due in about 10 days.

How much longer are they expecting the heat wave to last for your area?

89.5 should be ok

DO consider that window unit though!

Hooked up to a thermostat they really do the trick in your room in the summer time.

do you have a basement? Most basements are cooler and you can tinfoil the windows to keep heat out. Also try getting a bunch of ice and blowing your fan directly at the ice, it may help enough if you do this is a small sealed off room with no sunlight coming in.

Try and get some Plastic Sandwich Bags and pile ice in 2 of the Plastic Bags and then set 1 on each side. If you do this make sure not to put them close to the eggs. (Not sure if this will work but its just an idea.)

Keep those temperatures no higher than 90! 90.5 may not be enough to cause problems, but 91F CAN.
Higher temperatures cause deformities.

Should be over by the end of the week, but a week at 90+ worries me.

Thanks to all, I will keep an eye on them and hope I can manage. I'm pretty sure I can keep them below 91 degrees I was more worried about prolonged incubation at these temps.
