    okay so today at 2pm i will be getting my first red tail boa, he is a hatchling. i have a temporary cage set up for him. any advice for these snakes? if you have any it would be amazing

    Don't be surprised if it's pretty aggressive at first (I had an extreme case of this that lasted a number of months, it's not common).

    Oh, I forgot. VET VISIT! Get it done as soon as possible, preferably by a reptile specialist. The only acceptable condition is a 100% perfect animal.

    i got him. ive been looking at pictures and i think he may be a hypo.his sides are really faded. and he has a semi-strong pink tint to him. go to my gallery to see some pics. the quality sucks tho sorry. can people post pics of the side of their hypo please?oh god im thrilled

    For some reason it's not letting me see your gallery. So since I can't see them, I'll just state that most normal RTB's have a pink tint to them. Even if it is a normal, they are beautiful. I wouldn't trade my normal peruvian for anything....but I would like to find her a nice hypo male ;)

    he is a rescue and i think hes really skinny he is 3feet 2inches and only 350 grams :( im goint to try and fatten him up

    Be careful when feeding. Younger boas tend to grow longer faster than they bulk up. Just feed him an appropriately sized prey every 10 days and he will be ok. Feeding too much or too often can result in a regurgitation...
