    problem feeder and no poop?
Ok so my sookie girl ball has not pooped in a few weeks and refuses to eat. Its been about a month since she ate and i know that not a big surprise in ball pythons.

    But what could be wrong????

I havent even found any pee-rocks.

There could be any number of reasons why your snake is not eating. What is your setup like? What are your temperatures on the warm and cold side?

well i have a critter condo and its about 85-90 on the hot side and about 75 in the cool side and i also keep her cold side hide under a bunch of eco earth and i have placed my hand in it before and its actually cooler than that i think. She always eats and has perfect sheds. But this feeding issue is killing me. And no poop? 3 weeks?

If you could get your cool side up to 78-80 degrees that would be best. Your snake will not poop as much if it is not eating. How old is the snake and how long have you had it?

well i have had her for about 7 months and she is about 2.5yrs old 3 1/2 ft and weighs about 3.4 lbs give or take. and i just increased the heat to over 90 on hot and 80 on the cold. im really not sure how old she is but i know for being 3.5 ft and weighing as much as she does she's about 2.5 yrs or a little more.

Were you feeding live or f/t prey? Were you feeding rats or mice? The answers to these quetisons will help to figure out what can get your snake to go back on feed.

well she used to eat small rats but then one bit her and tramatized her and now she's on large mice, retired breeder mice or weined rats. but she doesnt want to eat any of them.

alive not pre-killed or f/t she wont strike the pre-killed she did once and never again.

she seems interested at first but then just backs off.

but 2 days ago she almost struck but then backed off. i even tried senting the tank and nothing. oh and she wont eat outside of her tank. i tried.

Feeding outside of the tank can be very stressful for a snake. I would give her a week before trying to feed her again. Offering food to often can also lead to stress.

So she is about 1500g give or take.

My best advice is to stop worrying. Many ball pythons will go off feed for no apparent reason. I have noticed my girls over 1000g will often fast for a few weeks and then start eating again.

Also quit worrying about when they poo. They will go when they need to go. It can be as short as 5 days, or as long as 6 weeks. As long as she is drinking water she will be fine. If you haven't seen any urates, it might be worth it to give her a short soak in 85* water.

well i just weighed in yesterday at 1103g and its been 5 weeks since her last feed. and i just yesterday found a heeping mound of fresh poo. lol

yeah theirs been urates just no poo. ok well just wanted to know about how long can they go without pooping.

yeah i figure she will eat eventually. i figure before breeding season she might get back in the swing of things. not that shes breeding yet but she is more of a fierce feeder around oct. nov.

not that i wont try feeding her in another week.
