Wild Caught, Miami Phase perhaps?
Last night at work I (I do on call work) I was walking around our building and noticed a snake on the sidewalk. After making sure it wasn't something venomous (Copperheads in WV) I caught it and I believe it's a Miami Phase Corn. It's likely just hatched as tiny as it is. For now I've put the guy in a 10 Gal with 1 hide (I'll get another ASAP) and a heat pad hooked to the same rheostat as my existing Corn set up. With this guy so tiny what can he eat? While I know I'll need to wait a while before attempting he had ate something previously as he/she has already pooped..lol. But here are some pics at this beautiful wild caught!

Around the reptile show here in PA my friends and I found about 40 corns. Seems those people just couldnt hang on to the little guys.

Yeah, Corns are pretty popular, mainly because size, easy husbandry, and colors.

No matter how popular they are people really need to do a better job of hanging on to them, poor guys would have frozen when the winter came.

It may very well be a WV native..If you'll check out wikipedia for corn snakes you'll notice their range is quite broad..As far a food, It should be able to gulp down a pinky without problem...:snake:

Another forum suggested Eastern Milk snake which I do believe may be more accurate and they are native to this area. Either way, a beauty, IMHO. :)

Corn snakes can be found native all across the US.
You can find them in southern IL as well... and it can get preeetty cold over here.
That's just a normal corn if it's not an eastern milk. Healthy looking little bugger though.
I don't know enough about those milks, but someone else on here might.

We based it off them being from the show because they were all kinds of crazy colors that you see being sold at shows, plus it was all within like 5 miles from the show.

Its a corn snake and not a eastern milk..If you'll get a better shot of the underside/bottom of the tail we'll tell ya what sex it is..

I'm pretty sure it is an E. Milk. It has the Y on the head which from what I can tell charactorize that species. I also believe that it is a female as after the cloaca the tail tapers evenly, where on a male I believe the first few scales after are a bit wider then narrow down.
