    nicaraguan boas
anyone know where you can buy one? im trying to research them cuz it's said they dont get too big & i dont want anything more then 6 ft long. i think i found a caresheet for them but no sellers/breeders in the us which is making me think they're fairly rare...
are they a tree dwelling species?

I have quite a few Nic, and other dwarf, boas. It may be best to search for Central American boas instead of Nicaraguan. There is a lot of great info in Vin Russo's book The Complete Boa Constrictor. You can also check out his site http://www.cuttingedgeherp.com/, and also Gus Rentfro's site http://www.riobravoreptiles.com/. There are many other BCI boas in Central America that stay fairly small. Especially the insular boas.

why, whats up with the nic? are they a poor choice?
it says here on boa FAQ's that they dont exceed 6 ft which is fine by me.
everything i've read so far says they dont exceed 5 ft.
im just researching them for fun but maybe, just maybe, i might want one in the future, like 4-5 years down the line.
right now im planning to stick with ball pythons for a little bit before i get into a boa.
im trying to stay under 6 ft or no longer then 6 ft.
im only 5'9" and i dont think i can physically handle anything longer then me, lol.

No, they are not a bad choice. I like my Nics. They also come in a variety of morphs. I currently have T+ Albinos, Motleys, Super Motleys, and Hypo het T+s. I hope to produce some Caramel Sunglows (Hypo T+) in the next couple of years.
