Day 55 @ 86 degrees cut or don't cut?
Just curious if it is too soon to cut eggs on day 55 when they are kept at 86 degrees. All candled well so far and lots of movement in the egg. Just not sure if development time is longer at a lower temp.

Yes, development takes longer at lower temps
Re: Day 55 @ 86 degrees cut or don't cut?
Unless you know what your doing I would wait until the first one pips.
Re: Day 55 @ 86 degrees cut or don't cut?
Better not cut them! 55 days at 89-90 is early for some eggs, let them pip!
Re: Day 55 @ 86 degrees cut or don't cut?
Thanks for the input, I have heard of eggs hatching in the 70 day range at lower temps. and didn't want to cut early and take a chance of them getting nasty.
Re: Day 55 @ 86 degrees cut or don't cut?
I'd wait till like day 60-62, just to be on the safe side and not possibly lose a baby from waiting....a small cut wouldnt hurt, if anything put a moist paper towel over cut to prevent them from coming out earily if thats the case.
Good luck.

Wait don't cut them let them pip at that low temp.

I agree with Raul, Greg, and Brock -- let them pip on their own. :snake:

Definitely wait! 86 is pretty low, it takes them quite a bit longer at lower temps. Good luck! :gj:

Id love to see these out of the egg, id like to see if the lower temps affected color or pattern.
