Can/Do ball pythons eat their shed?
While handling my cinny girl the other week I noticed her colors were looking like she just shed. I didn't handle her for atleast a week and a half before that, so I could have missed the whole shedding process, but her colors were just FANTASTIC. I looked all throughout her tank and couldn't find any shed.
So is it possible or has anybody seen or heard of a ball python eating their shed? Or is there any other explanation?

They do not eat their sheds. Their colors clear up after they start looking like they are shedding, but no fear, in a few days they will shed.

They can actually go into blue and then not shed. My Mystic male did this recently. He came to me in blue and cleared up like normal but did not shed out. I think it had to with the stress of moving.

Some times they just give up on shedding, this is usually chalked up to stress. Also the general process of shedding is pink belly, blue, clear, shed. When they go clear its usually kind of obvious because they look like they're covered in plastic wrap.

Alrighty. I just find it weird because I don't think shes stressed. Her temperatures are literally SPOT ON, her humidity is just a bit low, and shes feeding every week like she usually does, and I replace the water every day, if not every 2 days. And I NEVER see her out of her hide, even when I'm awake late. Unless its to grab a quick drink, then shes gone right back in.

Just adding onto my last post because it wont let me edit it;
This was just a week and a half ago. She hasn't looked wrinkled or anything, just REALLY bright and vibrant colors.

By bright and vibrant do you mean her colours or does she have a nice rainbow-y iridescence to her scales?

Both.
Her colors look like she is freshly shed, and if theres light around and I look a certain way I see a purple/yellowish reflection.

What kind of bedding are you keeping it on? If its some loose substrate then it could be hidden in there. If you use newsprint then I'd say clean out the setup and see if it's in there at all. If not then that's just confusing .

I'm using aspen, but its not completely loose. Its pretty well packed. I'll still search through it though when I get home.
