How often do YOU feed?

I know some people want to get their snakes to the optimum size as fast as they can to produce a clutch early. Others want to have a healthy snake but be able to handle it. Some do a little of both. If you are power feeding do you see any health effects as they get older? Males V.S. females? I could potentially see females not having as big of a clutch if they are raised so fast. Just wondering what your observations and tactics are.

Since my snakes are strictly pets, I have no reason to bulk them up quickly. I feed every 10 days, which works out well for all of my snakes, which are 4 very different types...

I feed once a week. The odd time I'll miss the once a week day, but then I feed 3 days after. So generally, every 7-10 days. If I know I'm going to miss a feeding day due to money, I just skip that week. My snakes will eventually be breeders, but once I expand my collection more I'm going to get a little more "strict" or "advanced" with feeding.

Dont know why I chose those words. They just came to mind.

I feed once a week, just because it's easier for me to remember. I have some snakes, like my corn who just laid that get fed twice a week, but that's just to get them healthy again. My BP's let me know when they're hungry. If one turns down a meal one week I let them wait before offering them food again. I never feed more frequently unless my animal REALLY wants/needs more food and at most I only feed them a second smaller meal.

we also feed once a week, as we get the feedinganimals every week on monday (sometimes tuesday).
If someone do not eat, we keept the rat, and try a few days later, or order less for next week.

My 08 females are all in the 900 gram range and I would like them to be 1200-1500 grams by November. I know almost all of them would eat every 4-5 days, but I like the consistancy of them eating every week. Also, if they eat a 70-100 gram F/T rat each week, they should be pretty close to breeding weight.......I hope.

Well, you have to understand that there is always different circumstances.

My snake just now started eating after not eating since November, so he will be eating every five days until he gains weight. Then he will be fed weekly.
