Red Tail acting a little strange
I got my Red Tail Boa about 6 months ago and it has been great, always ate well and was very docile. He would always curl up and hang out in his hide but since last week he has been in a straight line looking out the window of the cage and whenever you open up the lid he gets into strike position and almost got me. I was wondering what could cause something like this he has been good for so long and now this, any input you guys have would be great. I will try to take a picture of what he is doing if I cane get a hold of a camera.

what are temps, humidity and what kind of enclosure is he in. My RTB did a 360 on me not so long ago and I just learned to deal with her when she is in the mood. It seemed like she wasn't never gonna calm down but she did.

Sounds like simple cage aggression. If you're concerned, hook train him. Does he hold his strike position after you take him out?

His temps are not the problem I do not think one side of the tank is 85 and the other side is 90 and the tank is a constant 90 degrees now since my A/C in the house is not working. He will not show any aggression once you have him out of the cage, hes pretty calm and just moves around.
And I do keep the humidity up there I will mist his cage at least once a day.

I'm sorry, I think I may have misunderstood you... is there currently no gradient? As in, the whole enclosure is 90*F? If he does not have a cooler side of the enclosure to retreat to, overheating could cause aggression.
Boas are generally aggressive feeders, and will become obese if offered unlimited food. I'm not convinced the problem here is feeding. How often do you feed him? When was the last time he ate? Cage aggression (confusing approaching hands in the cage for food; cage aggression has nothing to do with how much or how often you feed, it simply has to do with feeding response) is fairly common in boas, and can develop with age. The fact that he settles down when you take him out of the enclosure leads me to believe that this is cage aggression; as soon as he realizes that you aren't food, he goes back to being docile.
