I owned a full grown savannah a few years back, but unfortunately had to sell him as i was moving across the country. I got it as an adult and had no problem handling him, although he was somewhat aggressive when I first got him.

Some years later I decided it was tim to get another savannah. This time I am starting with a baby. I've had him for about a month now, and are practicing regular handling. Unfortunately, he is still very skiddish. He hisses and squirms, but never bites. He is about 7 inches long (including tail)

I guess my question is; Is this normal behavior for a baby savvy. Is he just this nervous little guy that will calm down as he get older provided I keep up with regular handling?

The last thing I want is to have a full grown jerk savannah that can't be handled.

any input or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    thank you.

That is how the most of the baby Savannah monitors I get are. Yes, with frequent handling, they should calm down eventually.
