Setting up the UTH/Thermostat under the tub..
I have an 11" x 11" Ultratherm, and the tub I'm using is a 15 qt. Obviously the heating mat is more than half the size of the tub, so I'm going to place it partially under the tub and have nothing on top of the mat on the other side. Is that okay? Is it necessary that I tape it, or can I just sit the tub on top of it?

Also.. in regards to surfaces, is there anything I particularly should NOT sit the uth on?

Just don't wanna have a potential fire hazard or something.

I don't know about ultra therms, but I would tape the UTH to a piece of melamine that the tub will sit on. That way if anything overheats, just the melamine will get damaged. I was advised this after people here saw I has flexwatt on carpet. Someone melted their linoleum.

Ah, okay. I'll definitely steer away from keeping in on the floor, then!
