    First Clutch Ever! :D
I discovered this morning my female laid her clutch! 8 eggs and she didn't even put up a fight. Now she's down to 1200g, poor thing! I hope she starts feeding again soon.

I candled them and they all have veins so I hope they're ok. They all had those splotches on them, kind of like tiny lumps with water marks or something. Is that normal?

Also question on incubating - I have them in an airtight tub, is that ok and how often should I open it for ventilation?

Congrats!! I just got my first clutch ever today (Tuesday), so it looks like we'll be first-time grandparents around the same day... :):)

Oh, and while I'm obviously not an expert, I can try to answer your questions... my eggs (and most others I've seen) have "splotches," some more than others, so I assume that is normal. As for ventilation, I've read to open the tub approx once a week. :gj:

They look fine :) My only clutch I hatched had the splotches as well, it is just an area that isn't as calcified as the rest of the egg. As long as you see veins and the egg isn't completely under calcified they will be fine :) Congrats!

They look good. Open the tubs about once each week, and a little more often in the last few weeks. Good luck.
