dry eggs

ok well i had a clutch laid about a week and a half ago the eggs whent in the oven and i checked the yesterday and noticed the were already dimpled i knew that was not right all i can guess is the lid of the tub and surand wrap must of been letting hot air in and the hummidity must of dropped off, so i added more water and now the humidity is at 75% and holding they candle pink and veiny do yall think they will make it?

Humidity sounds a bit low.....

Do your egg boxes have any holes in them?

how can i raise it more there is a water tub in the bottom of the incubator so what else can i do?

How do you have the eggs set up? What are you using to measure the humidity? If it's something cheap it's more than likely wrong.

i have the eggs on light diffuser over wet vermiculite. and its a hydrometer from wally world. but how can i raise it more? oh and the other clutchs in the bator look nice and plump and are 2 weeks older.

your losing humidity somewhere i posted pics last year looked like golf balls , rechecked my tubs there were holes plugged them and the went full term

Saran wrap sucks, use glad press n seal, you will see a big difference, the eggs are denting cause the saran wrap isn't sealing. when using the press n seal you will have to air the tubs, I let them go 2 weeks at first then I air them every week. the last 2 weeks before they pip, I peel back a corner to get a very small air hole and leave it this way. this is when the eggs need the most oxygen.

Life gets so much easier (and cheaper) when you do this:

1.) get some 3/4 inch pvc pipe.
2.) cut (4) half inch pieces
3.) hot glue those half inch pieces to the bottom inside of your 6qt iris tub.
4.) drop your light diffuser on top of its new pvc pipe legs
5.) NO SUBSTRATE! simply put water in the tub until the surface of the water is just under the diffuser.
6.) put top on, and leave alone until you see a snake head popping out.

It is that simple. No substrate needed.... No plastic wrap / press and seal / or anything like that needed. My motto is quit playing in the sand and trying to guess if your humidity is right, and just make it right.

Be careful had eggs dimple & added more water & killed the eggs by being too wet had eggs dimple after 2 weeks & still hatch fine.As long as ur box dont have hole you should be good.

what killed your eggs has too much of a change too fast.( raising the humidity too fast) there is a section in the VPI book that talks about this and some testing they did to try to prove this out.
