HELP! is there a way to cool down a tank?

my a/c is broken and i dont have the money to fix it right now and my room where my snake is is a steady 92 degrees which not only sucks for me but i dont think its good for the snake either.. now his entire tank is as hot as the hot side was supposed to be so he has no heat gradient and the only way for him to cool down is to spend idk how many hours in his water bowl (hes not going into shed he just did 2 weeks ago) or if i take him outside at night (which i started doing cause i know soaking for too long isnt good). i know i cant just put a fan above his tank and call it a day but even if i could it would just push hot air around.. theres plenty of ways to heat up an enclosure but is there a way to cool one down?

Fill some pop bottles/milk jugs with water and freeze them, then place them in front of the fan. That should cool it down a bit. Even the fan without the ice will cool it down slightly. Find the coolest room in your house (probly the bathroom) and move him into there. Another thing you could do is put the tank in the bathtub and put some icecubes underneath one side.

so it IS ok to put a fan over the tank? one of the first things i heard was to not put the snake under a direct draft like the a/c vent but if a fans ok then thats awesome. my bathroom is too small for his 20L but ill def. try that soda bottle thing. thanks

I don't see any reason not to put a fan on em, it will dry it out in there so keep an eye on the water dish and mist often, but it won't hurt him.

actually thats probably the reason lol i always mist til the humidity hits and stays about 55-60 every time i see it go below 50. i guess ill just have to do it more often

Emergency, inexpensive measures for now include using a fan and the frozen bottles.

It's best to rotate bottles, have a couple in the freezer at all times, and one or two in use. If you are nervous about putting them in his tank, wrap them in dishtowels so he can't come into contact with the ice directly.

my neighborhood association wont let me put a window unit in my room cause its in the front of the house and it "makes the neighborhood look poor" :fork: stupidness.. smh

If it doesn't peak past 95, I wouldn't be concerned..

If he's not baking in the sunlight, he'll be fine.
