What was the price? Did the place mark it as something or is it just in a enclosure of ball pythons? With no pic its hard to guess

it was being sold as a normal but it had very pretty gold blushing all on the top of it

It could. I doubt the people from the pet store even know what a morph is. The only way to tell, is to buy - breed it - breed the babies, and wait to see. :) Good luck.
If you don't know the genetic background of a snake, it's usually classified as a normal, until proven otherwise.

Good luck if you decide to get it. Don't neglect to follow good quarantine though.
I'm working with three different pet store finds. One has already proven genetic (hoping co-dom) and I've got eggs incubating that could prove the other two (and possibly prove the first co-dom rather than dominant). So it's certainly possible.
But it's a gamble to be sure. With so many awesome reasonably priced proven morphs it's hard to justify the time and expense working with a dinker now days. A real shame because you never know if some could be hets for a subtle co-dominant mutation with a killer homozygous version. In my case they could all turn out to be new lines of existing mutations or of course the last two might not even be genetic.
Does your pet store find have a clear white belly all three scales across? I would consider that a good sign.
