Early shed? Oh I am so confused!
Ok, so some of you may have seen that I'm 99% sure that my female ovulated on the 3rd of this month.....now she's going into shed, she's almost totally blue (probably tomorrow or the next day).

I thought the pre-lay shed was almost a month later?! What could be going on here? Maybe it wasn't an ovulation? Although like I said I'm 99-100% sure. She swelled up for 2 days and now she's normal again - here is a pic of the ovulation.

You're fine, they usually go into shed 10 to 14 days after ovulation in my experience.

Ooh ok. Thank you so much Dave! You've been such a great help! The first time around breeding anything is so nerve-wracking, ya know! I mean I've bred guinea pigs, betta fish, horses, dogs, rats...once you do it once the next time is so much easier, but I have to say doing this has been the most frustrating (emotionally haha) because it's been such a long process. Everything else I've bred has been so predictable, this has been like "will she? wont she? now? yes? no?" haha

Anyway, you have no idea how much I appreciate everything!! Thank you!

Yeah, I think the general rule is two weeks, not a month. Too bad there seem to be so many naughty, rule-breaking snakes out there, haha. Good luck and keep us updated!

    Cheers,
