    ghost/hypo question
Hey everyone, I've been looking everywhere but I haven't gotten a good answer so I'll ask bp.net

Ghost and hypo are different names for the same morph, correct?

Are there certain lines of ghost or hypo that are not compatible with any other line?

I'm getting a female pewter het hypo and I want to make sure when I get a male het hypo down the line I will be able to breed hypos. Thank you!

Among ball python enthusiasts, Ghost and Hypomelanistic pretty much mean the same thing - among other keepers, the term "Ghost" may refer only to the Axanthic/Hypo combination.

I'd heard that so-called "Green Hypos" are not compatible with, say, Orange or Yellow - but I'll let someone with more experience confirm or deny.

    Good luck!

Ghost and Hypo are the same thing. Now I believe that most of the time when people talk about a ghost they are reffering to an Orange Ghost but Im not positive. Here is a pic of my Orange Ghost to give you an idea of what they look like. They have a dulled look where they almost look like they are always in shed.

Ghosts and Hypo's are the same thing, if you want to get down to technicalities there are no true ghosts, Hypo is the correct term. To my knowledge I don't see a problem with mixing Hypo/Ghost lines. OG Orange Ghost is what most people are referring to when speaking of Hypos. Either way can't go wrong with mixing a Hypo into well...EVERYTHING!

    Just my thoughts and opinions.

    Have a good one

I have a Ghost/Hypo that had Green Ghost x 100% Het orange parents. When I was looking I read this thread. http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=85786 I can't speak for any of the other lines. Your best bet is to ask the breeders what lines theirs are compatible with. Hope that helps you out.

Wrong, a true ghost is a hypo x axanthic

As cheap as male ghost/hypo's are now I'd just get a male orange ghost/hypo to breed to a pewter het so you don't end up with a bunch of pos hets.
That would be a hot breeding project :)
