Thats what I was wondering, which is why I brought this up. the article was a little confusing and to me not well written, especially when it came to staying on focus, or giving more details as to why.

Yeah, I agree, you have to read it a few times to begin to understand what it's trying to say.

If that IS what it is saying, then that's certainly sad.

The line is: "Those dropping in numbers -- some by more than 90 percent -- include the asp and the smooth snake from Europe, the Gabon viper and rhinoceros viper from West Africa, and the royal python "

That means that all the species listed above are "dropping in numbers" and that "some" have dropped more than 90%. It doesn't mean that all those species have dropped more than 90%. Just to be clear.
