Finally!

I finally got some Pied eggs. I purchased a trio of hets in 2005. I had one female lay in 08. 5 slugs, 1 good egg (hatched a 66% poss het male). The next year the other female laid. All slugs. I also purchased a visual female pied in 05. She is over 3000g now and a great feeder but as of today, not one good egg from her. I was about ready to give up on pieds. I traded for a visual male in 08 since I couldn't seem to make one myself. He has been a great breeder for me this year and one of my hets laid 6 perfect eggs finally. This has definitely been my toughest project, but Pieds were what got me back into ball after not having one for quite a few years so I can't complain too much. Now I just have to hope my hets are actually hets....Them turning out to be fakes would just be the ultimate kick in the nuts after all these years but hopefully I will be updating this thread in a few weeks with some pied pics. My male is just an awesome looking pied that has not lost his orange color like most seem to. I'll get a pic of him tonight.

Congrats on finally getting that special clutch! I bet when you see a patch of white scales while peeking into an egg in 56-60 days that it'll all have been worth it. Best of luck!

Well, if you miss out this year, I will have 100% piebalds next year. My male is close, but my female is too small, so I'm going to breed him to my big normal girl. That's just to say I will get good eggs that will hatch, you know what they say, don't count your chickens until they hatch.

I wish you good luck! Hopefully you will get some piebalds, and hopefully my female will start gaining some weight.
