    breeding bps
i would like to get into breeding. there was an ad on cragslist where im from where a guy is getting rid of a redtail boa and a pastel bp for 100 dollars each. i was just wondering on bredding would u be able to breed these. or would i have to breed say the pastel with another pastel. or the pastel with my nromal bp?

Well a lot of people will probably flame you for trying to breed 2 different species. I say don't try and make a hybrid. Just breed ball python to ball python. Also if i were you i would make SURE it is a pastel not just a light normal before spending $100 on a craigslist pastel. Also pastel x normal will give you pastels and normals, which is always nice! Pastel to pastel gives you normals, pastels, and super pastels.

So I've re-read the ad 4 times, and it never stated that the pastel was a ball python. Even the header says "Boas". And by the photo they are both deff boas. I know I'm not a snake expert, but I know the difference between a ball python and a boa. ^^ I don't mean to sound rude, but I think you might of misread the ad. I have to keep double checking myself to make sure I didn't misread it. hehe. Sorry to be a bubble burster.

yes i understand now. and if any would flame me it would just show how stupid they are for doing so. i don't know about breeding and that's why i'm looking up on this site and asking questions. u have to start some where and i'm sure the people that do breed there snakes. in the beginning had lots of questions and some where probably stupid like this. anyway thanks for the help.

You cant breed two different species pythons lay eggs and boas give live birth (very cool). Ball pythons can breed with other pythons (other than BP's) and thats what people dont care for, however they are some of the pretiest snakes. It all depends on how you view hybridization. Sort of like breeding tigers to lions.
