Rack system help; For when the time comes.
I posted the same thing in the ball python section, but hopefully I wont get bashed for doing the same here. :(
Tubs;
What sizes for each "age group"/How often do you who use tubs/racks switch your snakes from tub to tub?
What type of tub do you reccomend? (Transparent, blacked-out, other?)
Materials & Heating;
What is the best material for the rack itself to be made out of?
Depending on the kind of rack (I'm pretty sure there is more then 1 kind/model right?) how would I heat the rack?
What type of thermostat would I need to get?
Cleaning;
Besides cleaning the individual tubs, would I need to clean the spaces where the tubs are placed?
Bedding;
Any bedding will do, right?
Besides pine and cedar products. Any reccomendations?
Water bowls;
Deli cups with reinforcement?
Any information you can give me ontop of this will be greatly appreciated :)

Hi,
Tubs;
What sizes for each "age group"/How often do you who use tubs/racks switch your snakes from tub to tub?
Can't help you there - we measure and describe them differently this side of the pond. :oops:
What type of tub do you reccomend? (Transparent, blacked-out, other?)
I use transparent - but I also use a closed rack.
Materials & Heating;
What is the best material for the rack itself to be made out of?
The absolute best seems to be expanded PVC - I used melamine.
Depending on the kind of rack (I'm pretty sure there is more then 1 kind/model right?) how would I heat the rack?
That depends not only on what kind of rack but your room temps and the temp difference you are trying to achieve.
What type of thermostat would I need to get?
I'd go for at least a ranco but go for a herpstat or helix if you can - cheaping out on thermostats is never a great idea.
Cleaning;
Besides cleaning the individual tubs, would I need to clean the spaces where the tubs are placed?
I only ever do so if they have just laid eggs or are doing the poo picasso thing.
Bedding;
Any bedding will do, right?
Besides pine and cedar products. Any reccomendations?
Newspaper.
Water bowls;
Deli cups with reinforcement?
Seem to be very popular and save time with large collections as you simply replace rather than wash.
I only have a small collection so still use ceramic dog bowls to prevent tipping.
