Hatching Date
Zim laid her eggs on the 28th of April. I'm incubating at a temp of 81-83.5. (the temp is fluctuating but so far the eggs still have veins and I saw movement in one yesterday!) 60 days will be the 27th of June. 70 days will be the 7th of July. With temperatures like this, which is more likely? Hatching out at 60 days or closer to 70? I do not plan to cut eggs (they are too tiny!). Today is day 37 of incubation. Really? I've already waited 37 days?

Re: Hatching Date
Tough to say. Corn eggs are much more variable IMO than bp eggs. I have had clutches laid the same time, incubated the same temp, hatch up to three weeks apart. I would bet closer to 70, but you never know.
And yes, DON'T cut them! They're not like bp eggs!!

Re: Hatching Date
Don't worry. I won't. :D Even if I get ball python eggs this season I'm not going to cut them unless I have to. I'm getting really excited though. Thank you for all your help throughout this. :) You have really helped me keep from being a nervous wreck. :P
I might try and get candling pictures later. :) I don't bother them often and the room the incubator is in is almost the same temp as the incubator so temp fluctuations are not a worry. I candle them about once a week and every time I do it, more and more of the egg is filling up and I can see movement!

Re: Hatching Date
Here are some pictures I snapped today while checking on the eggs. Yes the eggs that have gone bad are extremely moldy. So far the mold has not bothered the good eggs so I'm not going to bother anything by trying to remove it. There are potentially 8 good eggs there.

Re: Hatching Date
Today is day 49 of incubation. Over the halfway mark and into the home stretch. The eggs are doing well. I'm checking on them every 2 days or so. I noticed today that one of the eggs was beginning to dimple. I added some water to the vermiculite to bump up the humidity. That egg is over 3/4 full and I've seen movement! Actually in every egg that has veins, I've seen movement. Most of the eggs are around 3/4 full. It seems like only yesterday all I could see was veins and today I see almost full eggs and wiggly things inside! Here is hoping for 8 little wiggly worms!

Re: Hatching Date
Dimpling is normal. Often, but not always, they will dimple before they hatch. Very similar to bp eggs.
