    rack pricing ?
ok I figured out over the weekend whatit would roughly cost me to build a 3rd rack, that everything from the lumber to the flexwatt. including the tubs to place in it(well the first 6 since i need 12 to make my other 2 racks uniform in tub size). I guessing about 400-500 in cash not counting time and such in the building and assemble of the rack. ( not that I got snakes to place in there or fill my current racks yet) I just planning ahead. some. I was wondering do they make a minium of a 12-14 tub rack that a complete setup that cheaper and fully ready to go(with tubs( lids on them) heat, and such soall I need s to place the water t-stat, aspen and snakes in cheaper? )

I am looking at about a 27 deep by 4 ft wide spot and can be about 5 ft tall? I want something that I won't have to worry about bowing melting ( if get too warm whic would mean dead snake before hand) and would need to last at least 10 years like my wooden racks will.
My current design is set up with 14-16 tubs all are 40 qt sterlite one with the flip lock handles. (grey handle flipover the lid to lock down) I using 11" wide flexwatt for the belly heat , along were the back of the tub will sit. so the snakes can thermal regulate themselves. I design it so it a double tub per shelf rack with anywere from 7-9 shelves possible I so I could gt techinal and have 18 tubs. but I thinking 14 tubs and the top shelf will be my rodent tubs.

I would go 4 ft deep and 17 in wide otherwise itll start to bow on you in the middle. Also i would build it and have lidless tubs. Make the wood the lid. I am confused tho. Are you looking for premade racks or ideas?

was looking t osee if they had a premade set up like i listed. I bouild wide due to limited space and i know i can reach my tub sitting in a chair ( be a wheel chair later in life to clean and check. reason i leave he lids on is due to not pushing the tubs allway back some times. with the lids on I prevent excapes. as for lidless the only pltwood around my area id the pine and with my luck the humidity issues would cause either a sap drip . or sap related toxic reaction wit the bp.

I would recomend using a melamine. It takes care of the pine issue as well as the humidity issue since its laminated. here are a few I found that might work

actually use the pine when I made my own . I looking ot build a 3rd unit. my racks each hold a minium of 10 snakes. . plus I use the tub and lids in my racks so I don't have to worry about the humidity and the pin sapping any. I was just wondering if they made a 10+ snake rack that a single unit for cheaper than I can build mine. I spend about 300-500 on the rack depending on the size and if i must order tubs at the time. I am looking at 12 more snakes if all my bp eggs make it to hatch.

Being on disablity and what little profit i make cutting grass limits the amount I can spend at any one time on a rack and such. (one reason I stock up on aspen and pine(rodent) bedding in the summer and make any buys of snakes then for the next years. I also do rescues of snake ( mainly endup with non native snakes sicne i release native snakes back in the wild were they caught over half my current collection of bp are rescued snakes that people are forced to give due to lost in instest or other reasons.
