Looking for some Vin Russo info!
I recently discovered this morph Vin Russo! I have not really heard of this morph and was wondering if anyone has bred this morph to anything else? If so, what can you get with this morph and does anyone have any pictures? Can anyone tell me anything more about it? Would this morph make a good addition to a colony and why?
thanks,
Dave

I assume you mean the Vin Russo white diamond right?
People have bred to to normals to get both normal and het leucistics
Bred to mojave and lesser to leucistics
Not sure if it's been with anything else.

More like a butter or a lesser, since it creates BELs.

Yeah but have you seen what they do when you breed them to a Phantom? I think they are freaking sweet. They call them Opal Diamonds. I am breeding my white diamond to a RDR Phantom and hope to hit one of these!!

The Russo het Leucistic is named for Vin Russo @ Cutting Edge Herp, who produced stunning, clean white Blue-Eyed Leucistics from breeding his "high yellow lemon" ball pythons together. To avoid confusion with other mutations sharing similar names, this particular bloodline has been dubbed the Russo het Leucistic. These are beautiful ball pythons, with bright pigmentation, white highlights & an unmarked belly. Russo het Leucistics often exhibit busy lateral patterns with a donut or "keyhole" shape. The resulting Blue-Eyed Leucistics from this line are extremely clean, bright white with minimal (if any) markings. Subsequent breedings have determined the Russo hets to be compatible with Mojaves in producing Blue-Eyed Leucies.

Is it just me or does this link not work?
Re: Looking for some Vin Russo info!
Russo hets are also only able to be identified as hatchlings. They grow up to look like normals. Some keep their high yellow coloring but not enough to look like anything other than a normal. Hatchlings look like a pastel hatchling without the blushing. High yellow dorsal line and high orange sides. They haven't been crossed with enough morphs to know the full potential yet. Yes they are like a butter or lesser in that they produce blue eyed leucistics when paired with another leucy producing morph. They are also similer to a YB in that they have the "hidden gene" affect with certain morphs. A far as looks though, they look like a normal with a clear belly unless it is a hatchling.
I am also surprised to say that until May of this year, Vin had no idea that his hets were compatible with lessers in creating leucys! I had to send him a pic of my leucy and his clutch this year to prove it :)
