I've never encountered this before...Hatchling Question

I have an albino hatchling that was the result of a slugged out clutch with 1 viable/fertile egg. She hatched on 5/11/2010.

I have not witnessed a shed on her yet. A week ago, she looked like she was getting ready to shed, but have not seen her shed skin. Since I'm seeing no information on extended length of time for BP sheds in hatchlings, I figured I'd ask here if anyone else has encountered this.

She is currently housed in a hatchling rack, the same one I used last year....there were no problems with shed on the previous years clutch nor on any of the babies this year. Temperatures are spot on.

Any suggestions or experience with this?

Albinos are harder to catch in shed, you have to look for the whitish/reddish eyes and dullness in color. If you miss it then you wont see i till they shed.

I have some that are born may 15th not even shed yet but eaten 3 meals already. All have eaten that have not shed.

I've offered her a very small rat pink twice now (just in case I missed something) and she is totally not interested other than sleeping with it lol

Unless shes very small they can take rat fuzzies. But if she dont want it try mouse hopper. I ALWAYS offer mice first for their meals since they are more willing to take that over rats. They switch very easy after month or so to rats.

I haven't usually had trouble starting them on rat pinks or fuzzies (she is very small...41 grams) just never had a slow shedder like this. I keep looking for a reason and can't find one...:weirdface

There isnt a reason. They dont always go into shed first week. Some wait longer or go right away.

Last year my last one to shed was 34 days after hatch date.

Well to be honest...that just plain helps! I did take your advice and try a small hopper mouse with her. Yum Yum All gone!

That makes me feel alot better. Thanks for the support and advice.
