May have lost my first clutch
I had been eagerly awaiting eggs from my normal female who was bred to my amazing pastel male. I was going to be my first clutch, I was going crazy waiting. I built a incubator out of a old red bull fridge, everything was ready and waiting. 26 days past her pre-lay shed I was notified on short notice I my ship was to get underway. I'm in the Navy. I was less than pleased considering how close it was to 30 days. I franticly tried reaching my breeder friend who usually takes care of my BPs when I go out on the ship but I was unable. On the ship I had no access to phone only email so I spammed him emails asking to check on her while I was gone...but I just got home and it seems he didn't get the emails:(

Today is 34 days past her pre-lay shed. I do not know when she laid. I found my girl curled around 4 eggs with 1 roll out. The roll out was completely deflated and pretty hard to the touch. The 4 she was wrapped around were not very deflated but the shells were dry and semi hard to the touch. I'm sorry I don't have pictures at this time. My only camera was dead and I was only concerned with getting the 4 she was wrapped around into some hatch rite and into the incubator asap. I put a little extra water (about a handful) at the bottom of the tub before I put the hatchrite and eggs in.
I can't think of anything else to try raise up my chances of getting the eggs to survive...I don't know if I have any chance since I've never had a clutch before and don't know what healthy egg feel like.

I am just REALLY tore up about this:(

In the wild they can go through a lot and come out fine.
Get them to the incubator and keep your hopes up unless you see mold forming.

If they candle well, they humidity should cure them right up.

    Good luck!:gj:

I think as long as they're still candling healthy veins, you have nothing to worry about. I'm maternally incubating again this year and the eggs are still looking good within the mothers' coils. So long as the mom is attentive and the enclosure isn't too dry, the eggs should be fine. The increased humidity in an egg tub should get yours plumped back out to norm. Good luck with them. :)
