Spray paint for custom hides
I've got some tupperware for making hides. I'm wondering what types of spraypaint are safe to use. or, if not, what sort of sealant to use to avoid toxic fumes. thanks.

Once it's dry, there should be no fumes, so let it dry out for a day or two after painting it before putting in in for the snake.
Re: Spray paint for custom hides
If you are going to use spray paint, I would suggest getting something like 320 grit sand paper and roughing up the surface a little so the paint will adhere better and be less likely to peel off as easily as it can on smooth plastic...
Re: Spray paint for custom hides
When i first got my snake i asked a similar question and was told not to do this at all. Its just as easy to fine colored Tupperware for hides and it won't have any adverse effects.
Snakes can absorb things through their skin and paint could be fatal even if its non toxic. This was hot it was explained to me so i stayed away from paint all together and just picked up different type hides, and in once case i just bought fake leaves and put it over the one clear hide i had and that worked perfectly.
Re: Spray paint for custom hides
I just did a "search" for spray paint. I kind of browsed through a few threads and it seems that there isn't much definite info. Here are links to some of them. I do find myself agreeing that oil based paint should not be used due to possible absorbtion through the skin...
