need help???....

ok the eggs are a week old today all looked good with veins in them some more then others. about 3 days ago one egg started sinking in and not lookin good lookin like it had some water on it. so i wiped it off and it just keeps getin sunkin more and more. now i lift the lid to day and it looks like another one is doin the same thing any one got any idea's?

temp is 89 deg.
hum. is at 95 %

in pic 2 and 3 are both from today one on left is the new one going bad. and the one egg is not really that green camara phone sorry

My guess is its too humid

You shouldn't have to wipe off water on the eggs. Since you did, it's probably much too humid.

Try reducing the humidity and see what happens. Also, check again for veins, to me that one eggs looks like it's gone bad.

i just wiped it off because i though maybe some how water got on it all the rest did not have any

Could the water be dripping down from the lid onto it?

How stable are your incubator temps?

When you said the egg looked like it had water on it do you mean like droplets or just looking shiny and possibly slightly transparent?

I thought when it came to BP incubation you want to achieve as close to 100% humidity as possible? Are the eggs turning brown or is that just the lighting in the picture? I am no expert but my suggestion would be to put some press n' seal on the top and put something under one side of the tub to tilt it so the condensation doesn't drip on the eggs. Good luck. :)

i agree

If they have caved in so early it is usually because of low humidity, too hot or too much air movement. In a week they should look about the same as when they were laid for the most part. How wet is your mix? Is the tub sealed pretty tight? Is there any breeze or draft in the tub? Why substrateless?

I never incubate on a grate or substrateless. Why when mixing vermiculite is really easy, you mix till damp but water doesnt drip when squeezed in your fist, then you are good as gold till eggs hatch.

I think your mix is too dry, should be real wet if eggs arent laying on it, or too much of a draft. One way or the other they have dried out and need to re-hydrate.

no every thing has been on temp stay good and i put the lid on to build up more hum but then this happens. the substrate is soaked in water and the rest of the eggs are dry as can be.
