Do they need a certain temp to breed
I am looking to do a few 1.2 groups and was wondering if there is an optimal temp for them. The guy at tthe local reptile store said that if kept cooler they didnt breed and just ate all the food. Just curious before I get goin with em

I keep all mine in a rack system in the closet. The temps are around 70 and they do just fine. I've heard that if it gets cooler though then it will slow breeding. I guess if you notice that they aren't producing, you could put one of those oil heaters in the room or some kind of UTH.

my basement gets into the 50's in the winter. mice still breed ok, but the asf's, almost all will stop. I been told they will breed when the temps are in the mid 60's.

mine are kept in a room that gets up to 95 degrees during the day.

They consume more water and stink more in the higher temps... but they also produce the most in my experience in warmer temps. Keep in mind, these guys ARE from africa!

In the winter they aren't exposed to less then 60 degrees.
