Anything up with this or just another weird looking normal?
I found someone trying to sell a "half albino" so I requested a pic thinking it might have been a paradox or something. Anyway, the color on the pattern towards the lower half is quite a bit lighter than the rest. What do you guys think?

They are selling it for $90

    Looks like a melanin disorder.

Doesn't really look like a paradox though.

I have heard of a few other times where BP's just seem to loose color for some unknown reson.

It looks very health. If it's a female it is well worth $90. IMO

Sorry... Forgot to say.. It looks like a normal.

It's actually not that uncommon for normals to have that odd pigmentation reduction in areas. It is just a normal but look closely. Near the back of the snake it looks like it has alot of scale damage. I wouldnt be surprised if that color difference is the result of an old burn or scraping injury that has healed and scarred. I would pass on that one.

The way she was describing it before I saw the picture, it sounded like a possible paradox. I was hoping I might get lucky but then I saw this pic and it wasn't what I was hoping for.

    Thanks for all your input.
I was talking to the lady a little more about her snake and told her that it obviously wans't a "half albino" and was totally surprised. The person she got it from told her it was half albino. I didn't ask how much she paid for it but hopefully it wasn't much.

Maybe the person told her it was 50% het albino, and she thought it meant that it was half albino?

Well if it is not scale damage..then it is a really nifty looking color change. As for 50% het albino...that would be more like it....I do not know what to look for ....but some members do when they are looking for albino hets. Apparently there are some markers for those. Hit up some of the bigger breeders on here maybe they will share what to look for. ;)

They said that they were told it was 50% het for albino. Does anybody know what some of the markings are to tell if it carries the gene?? It's been awhile since I've been into morphs, but is 90 a good price for a 50% het for albino?
