Nice lil bring ya got there. Might wanna start it off in a smaller enclosure though. Or give it more hides. Might help it settle in a bit faster and start eating quicker. I can't really speak to the Aspen, but I've heard spaghum moss works a little better to get the right humidity. And a bit of a bigger water dish would be better so it can soak if it wants too.
    Again really nice looking blood!
    Post some more pics :gj:

Very nice new pick up, he's a pretty lil thing. But just a heads up, blood pythons like a very small and secure space. So don't be suprised if he doesn't eat if offered in the 15qt. I would put him in something smaller with just an actual hide box, and a water dish with paper towels for the time being. That way you can monitor the humidity a lot easier, and I bet you anything he'll eat perfect for you.

So sorry ya'll but that blood hatched in 2009 and has likely eaten a number of times..Its captive born and likely been played with enough that its started in the groove..Myself I'd leave it in the 15 quart UNLESS it posed a problem..
As Rob stated, I'd ditch the substrate and go with, cypess mulch, spagnum moss or newspaper,,Your choice..The 15 qt will allow him more space to roam and MAY verywell help with waste retention which is something of GREAT concern with new keepers of the species..Twan, your in good hands with the forums you visit, read thru the archives and you'll derive knowledge, if a problem arises just say hey..:snake:

They like to feel secure as youngins but I wouldn't say they like to be cramped. As they move into adult hood they definitely appreciate all the space they can get to stretch out and be able to move around as they please.

Good lookin blood and as other have stated sphagnum moss, and cypress mulch will hold humidity much better than aspen, or that confetti looking stuff you have him/her on in the pic, which is crucial with blood pythons.

    Good luck man!
