    any good geckos out there?
i am looking around for a breeder to buy my first crested gecko(s) and would appreciate any advice. i don't want to drop $50 for shipping on top of the price for the animal and get ripped off if they don't know what they are doing in shipping the gecko.

There are a number of CG breeders on bp.net, right now the only one popping to my head is emily cook of cookreptiles.com

I highly recommend checking out pangeareptile.com, Matt there sells CGs and is a standup guy. He also has a great rhacodactylus forum with a number of banner ads from CG breeders, and they have a classifieds section there. I regularly get my CG diet from pangea reptile.

I have to give a shoutout to supremegecko.com and gorgeousgecko.com and are 100% top notch people, I've got geckos from both in my collection :)

Anthony Caponetto of ACreptiles.com is also a great guy with crested geckos, but I know him more for his carpet pythons.

Hope that helps! I wish I could remember more of the people here on bp.net, but my brain is fuzzing out on me!

there are also quite a few shows near philly that you can go to, you can see the geckos in person, save on shipping and talk to the breeders. :)

hamburg, white plains and havre de grace may be pretty close to you.

Read the terms on the breeder's website prior to purchasing an animal. Most reputable sellers will guarantee live arrival of your animal and have some sort of policy in place to cover you in case something goes wrong in shipping.

There are also several good shows close to you as mentioned--so you might want to go that route and save on shipping altogether if you find something you like.

Hey Dan! My best advice is to go to check out the list of vendors at a local show online. You could contact those breeders, or check to see if any one on the forum has purchased from them. Believe me, anyone who's not a "good guy", will be called out on this forum! Likewise, reputable breeders who consistently have great quality and service will be appropriatey acknowledged. ;) Or, you could check em' out at a show.
