May be a first in reptiles
On the 07th of May Trinity went in to Doc’s office for a lung wash. Samples were sent to the lab for a cytologic examination and a culture and sensitivity.
Today I got the results.
The cytology showed nothing abnormal, but there are bacteria.
Now this is where I am floored.
The culture came back showing growth of Bordatella bronchiseptica. That’s right, Trinity has contracted kennel cough. Don’t ask me, I don’t know.
:O  :rolleye2:
This bacteria is very resistant, but Doc just gave me some Trimethoprim/Sulfa to treat him with.
So hopefully this will finish clearing the infection and hopefully none of you will ever see this infection in any of your reptiles. :please:

Weird. Are you sure the results weren't mixed with another animals or had a false positive or something?
Keep us posted on the efficacy of the medication too please.

I am sitting here looking at a copy of the lab results with my name at the top.
If the lab mixed up the samples ?, well it’s just too expensive to do another sample.
I will let you know if the drug works though.

Id be so sorry for you had it ended up being a bacteria that is treated with the cheapest drug out there.
Weird though that it didnt show up on the previous Cultures you did on him.
