    Eating mice backwards.
Has anyone had a snake eat a mouse backwards (Not face first)?
Is it dangerous to eat a mouse backwards? Can it cause complications?

Yes. This usually happens when the prey item is too small.

No. As long as it goes down, its no big deal.

As long as it's the mouse that's going in backwards, and not the other way around, it's fine.

Yeah my girl ate a mouse backwards a few weeks ago, it happens from time to time. May be time for you to move to the next size prey though. :P

Yeah, it's fine, it just usually takes them a little longer to work around the rear legs if it's a big food item. And sometimes they'll give up and drop it and look at you expectantly... and then when you go to retrieve the mouse so you can dry it off and give it back to them, they try to bite your hand.

It's when they try to eat the mouse sideways that it's a problem. ;)

I'm glad to see someone ask this. Mine tried to eat his mouse butt first last night and it didn't go well. He looked so confused (if thats possible), but he figured it out and flipped it around
