Ugh, someone talk me into writing this paper!
It's finals week and I only have one final left tonight at 7pm so I'm pretty much checked out. I have a 5 page SINGLE spaced paper due Thursday at 7:30am :( I'm having so much trouble with this dumb paper! The professor is sort of a....weirdo. She has all these contradictory rules for our paper. It's supposed to be a reaction paper on a movie, but we aren't supposed to write very much about the movie. We are supposed to use content from class but we aren't supposed to use very much data from class or the readings. It's a reaction paper, but she doesn't want very much of our opinions in the paper and she doesn't want it to be a research paper..... :rolleye2: :taz: I just don't know what I CAN write about! So far I only have a page done :(

The movie was "Away From Her" and my class is "Communication Disorders and Aging." I don't know, I just don't have any idea how to write this impossible paper. I turned in some of my paper for her to look over and she told me not to include information about Alzheimer's even though the main character has Alzheimer's and we went over Alzheimer's in class for 2 days, each class is 2.5 hours long!!!! :taz:

You have had all year or at least a semester to figure this woman out. I discovered in college many times all the prof wants is for you to restate what they find important. So, think what would she find stimulating in a report about the movie....Just my thoughts. Also the quicker you do it the less of an irritation it will be.:D

Ugh. I'm in the same situation. Given, I'm a freshman in high school, but still... hey, it's honors English, I'm allowed to complain! Mine's 15 pages, doublespaced, an authorial intent project. A direct quotation from the teacher: "Instead of merely staying within the realm of the known, students are asked to do an in-depth paper worthy of any regular college English class."
Yeah. I've had a month to do it, it's due next Monday, and I have a page and a half done. :(

SO enough complaining. Write your paper, maybe I will too. :P

Yuck :( I'm a senior at the University of Iowa, this is a graduate course, but undergrads were allowed to take it. I've had almost a month to do it too

Good luck with your paper! I'll try to stop complaining and get some of it done

Alright I did it!!! It took me a long time to finally sit down in front of the computer, but I got 4 pages wrote! It's easily one of the worst papers I've wrote, but at least I have a paper  I'll work on it some more tomorrow, I'm not sure there's much that can be done to make it any better! I'm sure I put too much research/data in, and I'm sure I put too much opinion in, and I'm sure I put too much about the movie in, but what the heck else was I going to write about for 4 pages!

This is a wonderful trick that I use when I'm having trouble with a paper. Use the "replace all" in Word to replace any punctuation with size 14 instead of size 12 font. It literally adds anywhere from half a page to a whole page, and you can't even tell. I don't usually use it for teachers that I like, but man, she sounds crazy. Good luck! :gj:

Lol! Someone told me this trick just a few day ago, someone who is also in this crazy class with me! I was SOOO tempted to do it! But I think she's just crazy enough to check for it! I know she uses turnitin.com....... I can't stand it when teachers can't even trust us to write our own papers, but I guess
