ive got like 100s of rats and mice but i go by feel but i would love to know the actual age.

Males can breed at 4-5 weeks, females can breed younger but they are considered "mature" at 12 weeks.

I had a 6 week old female give birth to a litter of 8 babies and she didn't kill or eat any of them. She was a very good mother. I know a lot of people will tell you to wait a little longer, but it really just depends.
I have been breeding mice now for about 1 month and 3 weeks, and I have only had 1 litter, but 2 other females are on the virge of "popping". I am expecting 2 more litters within the next few days here. None of the females are over 12 weeks either. I purchased them when they were around 4 weeks old I am pretty sure.
My goal is to build up a pretty large colony because I plan on building up my Ball Python collection up to at least 4 snakes by August and I also plan on selling feeders to friends and local snake owners who are already interested in buying cheap from me once I get things rolling.
