How much should my BP weigh? What is the best time to weigh?
For those who know me, I found my BP Cola back in November hiding behind a Coke machine

I'm now to the point where I feel like I am providing a relatively safe/comfortable atmosphere for him.

My question is in regards to weight/feeding schedules.

For the last four months, I have been feeding Cola roughly once every week, usually on Fridays. When I go to the store I tell them to give me the "largest small" rat. I guess I should start weighing the rat also so I can tell you guys how much on average he is eating. But... I feel like that is a good sized meal for him. If that's too small, you guys can let me know I'm sure :D

I've only been weighing him since February, and he's been gaining weight pretty quickly in my opinion. Here is what I've found so far:

    February - 950 grams
    March - 1050 grams
    April - 1100 grams
    May - 1220 grams

I usually try and weigh him about 3 days after he's had a meal so I don't add any artificial weight to him. I will tell you that I weighed him today, and fed him this past Saturday, but he laid a pretty big turd on Sunday that gave me the confidence that he had digested enough to give a solid number.

    So........

    1. is his meal the appropriate size?
    2. am I weighing him at the right time?
    3. how big should I expect him to get?

    THANKS!

Aww glad to hear he is doing well!! It is pretty awesome that you kept him btw :P

    1. A small rat (around 100-120 grams) is perfect for him for the rest of his life.

    2. Most people weigh their snakes on "empty". Right after they took a huge dump.

    3. He shouldn't really get too much bigger unless he is actually a she (quite possible). Most males usually stay under 1,000 grams but it is not un-common for them to get as large as females.

I see you named it "Cola"! :gj:

I think I mentioned in my PM it's great also because it can be used for either male or female.

So sounds like everything is going well! That's great! I'll have to re-read your post when I get done work late tonight - at my other job right now so have to run.

That's great news though. Cola lives on!
