    Your Experience With ASFR?
My three year old male ball python has not eaten since November, and I am getting extremely worried. I have taken him to the veterinarian, and they said to try gerbils, or baby rabbits. But then I read up on ASFR. Since ASFR are the closest to their natural diet, what is your experience? Do they work very well, or a waste of money? How did your snake respond to them? I am completely lost, my baby absolutely refuses to eat his mice or rats. I was just wondering how the ASFR went with you? Also, would they be worth breeding? Not that many people have them in my area.

    Thanks,
    Mackenzie

My BP was feeding on mice, and I couldn't keep rats in the house, so I switched to ASFs. She used to feed pretty well, but would go off every few months for a week or so--but since I switched to ASFs she eats regularly.
ASFs are easy to breed, and kind of fun to watch too. They don't smell unless you leave the bedding unchanged for more than a week. I'd say to do it. Wait a bit longer if you don't like the idea of breeding your own feeders.
And wait for more input, of course. I'm a relative newbie.

Thanks! I'll definitely try them out... only problem is finding where to get some!

    Because gerbils resemble ASFR...
