New models have been flooding out last month and more due this month too. Just Google and read reviews both of "pros" but more importantly users! There is always somebody reviewing something out there and it seems they can't wait to post it to the world - both good and bad. Canon had the smallest digital out there (still does, it can fit in an Altiods tin) and it was 10mp and $250 less than I paid for our 2003 digital Canon. I almost bought it until I started reading the reviews online. Our 7 year old 5mp Canon it turns out outperformed the new 10mp Canon! How can that be - Canon skimped on the lens to keep costs down. Big mistake. Supposedly Canon listened and has either just come out with or is shortly coming out with an improved version of it. It's small - really small and that is what I wanted - but with quality too. So just go hunting for reviews online based on the cameras that interest you in your price range. With BestBuy you can arrange the cameras by price and with Amazon you can read all the customer reviews right there. Hope this gives you some direction!

I just picked up the Nikon L110 for around $250 at Microcenter. They have it at Sams club for $249, but it's $279 at walmart. I am very happy with it and that's coming from a Canon user.

If you're just looking for a point and shoot, get Canon. This Nikon has an excellent macro mode though and HD video recording, 15x optical zoom and much more.

I have never had a problem with Sony.
And their digital cameras are really enjoyable and easy to work with.

    They're also slimmer in size!
