planning for a new arrival
i have a tank that messures 3.5" 1.5" and 1.5" high i currently have my bp in there and have gave it a bit of an upgrade with evo terra rock backing etc temps are still sitting good and the humidity seems to be fine. only problem is it looks to nice for a snake thats hardly seen lol. would a tank that size be good for a 09 jcp which im planning on getting as it is? and if it would do the job roughly how long before i had to move the jcp to a larger enclosure and have a spare tank as junior my bp is going to tub life. i may think about going for a third if i fall for another species. i have started getting matterials together to make a custom enclosure for the jcp heres the pics i have spare branches for perches but refuse to put them in the now

Re: planning for a new arrival
Nice set up, but to big for a baby jungle IMO. I keep all of mine in tubs till they hit about 9 months to a year. Then move them to someting bigger.
Re: planning for a new arrival
thanks been dying for some input:gj:
what size tub do you use? i was thinking 3 to 4 month qt in a tub in a separate room and it will be at least 2 months before getting the new addition as it is so i have everything set up with my bp's tub and the qt tub. with this tank getting a good scrub down and a new modified lid before he/she goes in there
Re: planning for a new arrival
I start them out in a 32 quart tub. I just move my bredli (almost a year old)to a 105 quart tub and he loving the extra room to move around. They love to climb. My Diamond x Jungle (3 Feet) Just got move to a 4x2x1 Boaphile cage. My 8 foot jungle is also in a 4x2x1 boaphile. Bought the cages used. Got 4 of them for $300.00. They run about $200.00 or more new. So i couldn't pass up that deal. Plan on getting a couple more, but 4x2x2.

Re: planning for a new arrival
Yeah, a bit large for most '09s, but could work as long as the little one eats well for you. If there are enough hide spots with choices for temps it might work. But yeah, having a smaller tub ready for the first few months is a good idea in case the little one feels too uncomfurtable in the larger enclosure. And that size could house a male carpet for most if not all of his life. Might be a bit small for a large male, and for sure would be a bit small for a large adult female. Be sure to post pics when you get the new little one!!!
