Hemipene excitement
I just purchased a new bp and I noticed that his hemi's pop out at certain times while handling him. I've never encountered this before. Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

Hi,
He's probably just nervous and trying to decide if he needs to poop or pee on you to scare you away or not. :giggle:

Lol!
He's probably right though. He's still a bit nervous I would assume.
Well, it's a boy!

Re: Hemipene excitement
Thanks for the info guys. I picked up two nice bp's one's a 159g orange ghost male and the other a 300g mojave female. Previous owner warned me of some feeding issues, today I offered them freshly killed rat pups and no go. I might have jumped the gun on trying to feed them so soon. They both seem very nervous and jumpy. Very different from my other bp's. They will eat whatever, whenever, at anytime lol.

:welcome: To BP.net. I hope you aren't squeezing him when you handle him or letting him crawl through a tight fist. If you are, then be prepared for the present you get...

If they are that nervous, maybe give them an extra week to settle in and get extra hungry

Re: Hemipene excitement
Thanks Vyp. Should I leave the feeders in the enclosure overnight or freeze them for next time? I feel bad the little guys died in vain lol.
