shoot. flexwatt help?

So, I've got my rack all put together. Or do I? Well, thinking about flexwatt today, I wondered if covering the entire strip in aluminum foil tape to protect it from rubbing is a fire hazard? Because that's what I did. So am I going to burn my house down?

You should be fine, just keep an eye on it.

The only thing I dont like about foil tape, is seeing people tape over raw ends of flexwatt, the chance for fire is just insane. So make sure you didnt do that

For future reference, you might consider routering a big slot in each shelf for the flexwatt to lay into, just an 1/8" deep or so....just an idea

Thanks. My dad's an electrician and sealed up the ends before we taped it down, so I'm fairly sure we're good there. I wanted to sink it into the shelf, but got outvoted :rolleyes: As long as I don't start a fire!
