How do I wash glass snake cage without affecting UTH?>
I am going to take everything out of the [glass] cage and disinfect today and I was wondering how do I clean the cage without getting the UTH wet? Do most people take the UTH off the cage when cleaning or just work around it?

You do not have to clean the underside of the enclosure. I would suggest using a spray solution, or maybe just wet a rag with your cleaning solution and wipe down the outside. I use a 10% bleach solution followed by lots of rinsing with clean water.

Just to double check, your UTH should be UNDER the cage. Otherwise the U in UTH is worthless.

As mentioned the uth should be on the outside of the tank therefore cleaning the inside with liquid cleaner and out side where UTH is you just wipe it off.
The easier way to do it is to mount you UTH on a piece of sheet metal that the tank sits on. Then when its clean up time you just left tank up and clean, leaving the heating element stationary. I do this with tubs as well for my quarrantines. Just remember you thermostat probe must always be on the outside of tank on heating element directly so you need to leave space for that.
