Another Hide Question....

OK Guys and Gals.
Setup:

RBI rack 30qt tubs
temp hot spot 89-90 ambient 85 low 82-80 hum 60%
water bowl 7inch
Large rbi hide

Snake: 810g YB male.

Problem:
I noticed that he dont like his hide... he sitting there for while and next day mourning i see him outside squeezed tide between moved hide and tub wall. hide is in heat tape tub area.

Any suggestions ??

Do You think what i think?? Hide too big and he feel insecure ??

I use the same stuff, but my BPs are still using the medium size. They range from 600g to almost 1000g. The oldest being the 1000g Axanthic. He almost needs an upgrade, but not there yet.

Yea it's look like this hide is way to big for him... I'm think I'm gonna order mediums today...

Oh well its no wonder he isn't using his hides yet. He still needs a little more time to adjust. Smaller hides would probably be worth looking into as well.

Some snakes just don't like to use hides. See if he adjusts. Other wise he may be one of those exceptions.

He took small/medium F/T rat tonight without any hesitation (i blow some scent with hair dryer a he get so exited - 15 sec dangling and buuuum :D:D:D) so I think I have just "new snake syndrome"

Anyway I've ordered medium hides already and we see....

Yea That could be one of them.... I just get email from Steve saying that he was living in 32qt tub without hide... We see what happens if I switch hide to medium size I'll keep You guys Updated :D

Give him a few more days to figure them out. I brought a 860g male home Sunday who had been living in a rack without hides. He stayed outside, between the hides and tub or laying on top of the hides (looking more like a boa)until today. This morning I saw that he is finally crammed in one of the hides. I guess he finally figured it out...

Ok here is Update... in Wednesday and Thursday he spend some time in hide but not that much... Yesterday evening i switch hide to Medium size he squeeze in side and stay there all night !!!!:banana::banana::banana:

I thing large was to big for him.... Now he sit there tide and comfy :D:D:D
