    Caramel Albino Pied
I have a female pied, and there is a local breeder who produces some amazgin caramel albinos. Just to make sure I have this correct: if I pair my pied with the caramel albino all of the offspring will look normal, but be het for pied and caramel albino. When I pair those offspring together what are the odds of an egg producing a caramel albino pied?

I don't know what percentage it would be, but it would be worth a shot. To make your odds better I would keep two of the babies, male and female, then breed them back to the parents.

with a double het breeding these are your odds
    6.25% WT
    12.5% Het. caramel,
    6.25% Homozygous caramel,
    12.5% Het. pied,
    25% Het. pied, Het. caramel,
    12.5% Het. pied, Homozygous caramel,
    6.25% Homozygous pied,
    12.5% Homozygous pied, Het. caramel,
    6.25% Homozygous pied, Homozygous caramel
    hope that helps....6.25% is 1 in 16

not true.... breeding a double het from that pairing back to one of the parents would give you more of the parents morph (pied or carmel) but would leave you with only possi het offspring(ie carmel possi het pied)..... so you would be drawing straws to know if the 2nd generation offspring is actually het or not. breeding one of the double het males to as many of the females as possible, or the same pair in repition will eventually hit

Thanks guys. This is obviously a long term plan, but wanted to make sure I had everything right in my head before I started working on it.
